Review: Hyperbole and a Half

Allie Brosh and her book Hyperbole and a Half are a gift to humanity.

My first encounter with her work was the depression comic at her website. It was the most goddamn accurate thing I had ever seen so I was instantly a fan.

She has a brilliant way of telling a story that makes it extremely affective at what it’s trying to achieve–usually being hilarious. But her depression comics also achieve the goal of garnering empathy and perhaps making people who are also suffering, feel less weird, less alone.

While her drawings may not be worthy of the Louvre, her art successfully compliments her stories and portrays accurate emotions.

Five out of five stars.
Would recommend.
Might save the world someday.
